As part of NCDOT’s Adopt-A-Highway program, Friends of East Flat Rock has adopted the 2-mile section of Spartanburg Highway (US Hwy 176) from the intersection of East/West King Street to the US 25 connector.

On each event date, we’ll meet near the Adopt-A-Highway sign under the bridge at the 25 connector on 176/Spartanburg Highway (exit 7) at 10:00 am and work no later than 1:00 pm.

ℹ️ Volunteers must be at least 12 years old and children 12-17 must be supervised by an adult who is at least 21 years old. NCDOT provides participants safety training, safety vests and trash bags.

👉🏻 OPTION FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN: While children under 12 are not allowed to participate with trash pickup on Highway 176, we are planning a clean-up at the same time at East Flat Rock Park. It’s a great way to teach children how to care for their home and environment.

We hope to see you there!
